September Bombshell Hop

Yes, you read that right! It's been oh so long since I've had the time to play with my Bombshells, but I just couldn't pass up the opportunity to join in with the other lovely ladies on the Bombshell Forum and celebrate my favorite holiday!

Alison, the Blog Hop Captain, set out this challenge for September:
"Many of our major holidays are just around the corner. I think we all know what my favorite holiday is...but what's yours? My challenge to you is to make a Bombshell project for your favorite holiday. Bonus points if you make a decoration!!! Use any holiday you want and create something that's going to make us want to celebrate!!! "

Well, I think we can all guess what MY favorite holiday is...and if you can't, well, you just haven't been paying attention or this is your first visit to my little corner of blog land :) I just had to make a project for Halloween!!!!! And seeing that 31 Days of Halloween starts in just three days, I was super excited to make a warm-up project to share. BTW, if you don't know what 31 Days is, please click the link for info or come back and visit on the 1st, it's going to be a fabulously creepy-fun month long blog hop with tons of inspiration and amazing prizes!! You can see the list of Wicked Bloggers in my sidebar, and it is HUGE! Come check out how you can win some awesome prizes from some really great sponsors! (hint: Bombshell is one of them!)

Now that that's out of my system, I'll move back to the hop at hand...I'm just so excited.
For my holiday project I had to work with one of the new costumes from the Halloween Dress Up Set for Bombshell Angel. Once again, I did some digital work, but this time I combined digital with hands-on. I created an artwork piece that will later be added into another project during 31 Days (shhhh, kinda a sneak peek). Not quite a decoration yet, but it will be. Here she is, my wicked little witch, complete with black cat familiar.

*click for larger view

Bombshell Angel is colored digitally, and the background image and flowers are from Itkupilli. I used black canvas cardstock, and some white crackle paint on two different layers. Then I added ink shading all around and finally some fun little letters for my sentiment, ribbon, and hardware. After taking the pic, I went in digitally and added even more shading and texture and my spider webs. Other than the pic being a little blurry, I think it came out wonderful! It was fun to color the angel up in some bright Halloweenie colors, and I kinda made her look like me with her red hair and all (yes, it's red again!)

So, what do you think? I hope it gives you some inspiration, and gets you in the mood for Halloween! Now you get to hop on through to the other participant blogs and see which holiday inspired their creations. Don't forget to stop by the Bombshell Forum to get your fix and sign up for the blog hop next month. And if you're interested in joining in some fun conversation about our 31 Days of Halloween event, swing by the Smeared and Smudged Forum too. Have a great hop!

Bombshell Hop Day: Color Challenge

Today I am participating in the monthly Bombshell Stamps Hop. It's been such a long time since I've been able to do anything with the Bombshell gals, so I thought it was about time I go over to their forum and sign up. The challenge for this month's hop was a color challenge. We were given this wonderful pallette of five colors from which we had to choose at least three to use in our project.

I have to tell you my colors are a little off. I looked at the colors, picked the top four, then went off to the other room to create. When I got back I realized that one of my colors is more turquoise-y than it should have been. But, I'm still close so I think it counts. Here's my card:

I used the Growing Hearts stamp set, which is one of my faves. I colored my image with watercolors. The background of the card is done with several layers of paint and Kona Krackle. My image is three layers done up on pop dots.

I hand made the flowers, and the leaves are scraps of fabric.

I had alot of fun making this card although it's not exactly correct on the colors. It was a real challenge for me not to add any black in to the card, and the style of it really made me step out of my comfort zone. I hope you enjoyed taking a look.

The hop list is below and I think you will really enjoy visiting all of the fabulous talent from the Bombshell Forum! Also, don't forget Smudgefest starts Monday and I'll be linking up to the challenges here when I share my projects. (If you don't know what Smudgefest is, please come check it out! It will be a blast!)

Have an awesome day!

Dropping The Bomb- Heartflies Garden

Ok, today I'm sharing my third and final catch-up Bombshell Stamps project with you. Not to say there won't be more, these are just the three that I was able to get done this past weekend. I still have ALOT to go to be completely caught up and will share as I am able to.

Like I mentioned yesterday, this one may be my fave out of the three. I used the Growing Hearts stamp set for this one.

*click pics to view larger

On the background of my card, I used a stencil and some black gesso to add some faint swirly images. Then I added some shading to make it look kinda like a night scene. I finished the background by stamping the vine image in white coming from the right edge.

My main image was stamped on white cardstock, colored with prismacolors, and cut out. I wanted most of the colors on her to be soft and faint, almost like moonlight was falling on her. Then I added bold color to the heart in her hand, her lips, and the heart on her forehead using nail polish. I added her to the bottom left of the card. Next I colored and cut out some flowers to surround her.

The rest of the hearts are leftovers from a die-cut that I used a while back. I had tons of the little hearts left over, and the swirly effect at the bottom of them matched perfectly with the heart in the image! I colored them with nail polish as well. I cut the wings from a metal piece that I had laying around (it's the same metal piece that I used for my Creationist spinner a while back), and added yellow embossing powder to them. Then I attached them to the back of my hearts, and added them to the card.

So, now you get the title! She's catching Heartflies in her midnight garden...or at least that's the visual I had. Does it make sense? I think this one's my fave cause it's kinda odd, it fits me. I wish I could go outside and catch heartflies, ha ha! I'd love to hear what you think.

Dropping The Bomb- Tiki Invite

If you joined me yesterday, you heard all about my attempt at catching up. Well, here's my second Bombshell Stamps project that I have to share with you. It's supposed to be an invitation to a summer tiki party. I make it relatively simple to keep with the idea that I'd be making quite a few of these to send/give out, and I think it came our rather nice.

*click for larger view

This card uses images from the Tiki Party and Madonna Woodcut Bombshell stamp sets. I started this time by stamping, coloring, and cutting out my tiki gods. For the coloring, I used two different distress inks, my colorbox tool, and some markers. I choose my cardstock colors to match the colors I used on the tikis.

On the rusty background cardstock, I distressed the whole thing to look kinda soft like suede. I stamped flowers from Madonna Woodcuts using distress ink, and added just a touch of color to them using chalks. For the saying, I crumbled vanilla cardstock and distressed it, then stamped my banner onto it. Then using my colorbox tool, I added deeper shadows behind the banner. Finally, I added two brown brads.

I layered everything, putting the tikis on pop dots, and tied a brown raffia ribbon to the background. To finish off the card, I added these two wood-like buttons to the raffia and tied them so they had space in between. Now I just need to throw a tiki party so I can send the invitation!

I'd love to hear what you think about this, so feel free to comment if you like.Tomorrow I have a third project to share with you, and I think it might be my favorite out of the three, so please visit! See you then.

Dropping the Bomb- Sunless Garden ATC

Lately I've been in a little bit of a slump when it comes to creating. I just haven't had time, and due to some serious personal issues (don't worry, it's all good now!), I've been very lax when it comes to making anything. I've only participated with my Bombshell DT obligations when absolutely neccessary, and unfortunately my beloved Bombshell Stamps have gone untouched for about two months.

Shannon has been absolutely wonderful and supportive, but now that things are getting back to normal I REALLY NEED TO CATCH UP!!! So, with my hubby home and really nothing pressing to do other than a semester exam, I took some time this weekend and made three Bombshell projects that I'll be sharing over the next couple of days. And let me just say, it was exhilarating to sit down and create without any barriers or restrictions. And to think I was debating on ever stamping again... Pshhhhhhhhhhh! As if I could live with that!

Anyway, the first of my projects is an ATC. I know, I don't usually do these, but for some reason after participating in a few of the S&S monthly swaps, they have captured my interest and now I'm in love! I think it's the whole no restrictions thing that I mentioned before. I love when I can just "do" and not worry about following guidelines. I'm sure I'll be making quite a few more ATC's over the next few weeks.

This one features images from the Sacred Heart and Dead Necessities Bombshell sets, and a saying from the Growing Hearts set. It was a blast to make, and I even got a "Wow, that's pretty cool, I REALLY like that one" from my husband, which doesn't happen often. Usually it's a "Yeah, that looks good" or "it's nice", but I think this one just caught his attention.

I started with a background image from Itkupilli, then stamped my saying in white over the background and added some glitter nailpolish accents. The flying skull and sacred heart were stamped on chipboard, cut out, and colored with paint pens, chalks, markers, and nailpolish. I added some broken jewlery to the heart, then they were both attached with pop dots.
Finally, the saying was stamped again on white cardstock using both black and red ink, then I cut out the strips and matted the word that I wanted in red. Then of course I used some distress ink randomly. After doing all that, I decided to add stitching down the sides and in the opposite corners to finish off the ATC.

So, whatcha think? Is it a "Wow, I REALLY like that" or a "that's nice"? For me, it's a winner. I may make it into a magnet so I can look at it all the time, who knows. I hope you enjoyed looking at it and maybe even got some ideas. And please join me tomorrow for another Bombshell project!

Time Flies Altered Calendar

Hi everyone! I have a great project to share with you today, one that has been sitting in the back of my closet for some time now. I actually forgot that I had purchased this item to alter a while back, and found it behind my paper rack a couple of weeks ago. Then it sat (again) until I had the chance to sit down and do something to it. Finally yesterday I threw my hands in the air, said "screw everything", and sat my butt down to stamp. My house suffered, but I still managed to feed my kids and get my Smeared Ink orders out like I should, ha ha!

So, the item that I am talking about is this wooden calendar that I found at Goodwill. It cost about a dollar and a half, and worth every penny. Of course there was NO WAY that I could leave it the way it is...as you can see in the pic, it is definitely NOT my style. I like cows and all, but not enough to hang on my wall and look at every day.

You can see that the calendar has these little wooden tiles that slide in and out for you to arrange the dates, plus some tiles with a month on each side and some with holiday pictures. Pretty cool cause you can add those in if you want them.

To start altering, I coated the base with a black glitter paint. Then I added in other layers of paint, including beige, copper, gold, pink, and red nail polish. After all the layers dried, I tore up some old book pages and modge-podged them onto the background.

I stamped my image from the Muertos Doll stamp set from Bombshell stamps. I used coffee and watercolor crayons to color him in, then added a blood red heart using nail polish. I cut him out and arranged him on my base. Although I modge podged over him as well, I left his right hand out because I wanted to add some dimension.

Then I stamped, colored, and cut out my little flying clocks from the Rise and Shine Bombshell set. I added them to my base, with one going into my doll's right hand. A pop dot was placed behind the right hand to bring it forward. I also hand wrote my days of the week with black and white paint marker.

The final step on the base was to add my embellishments and my saying; "Time Flies When You're Having Fun", also from the Rise and Shine set. My embellishments are tiny watch pieces and gears. As the muertos doll catches the clocks, they spew out their innards! Kinda gross when you put it that way, but I thought it was cute at the time. I also added some larger washers and gears onto the shelves to complete the look.

To change up my tiles to match, all I did was color them with a gold foil pen. I decided to keep the original holiday pictures that were on the tiles, and the original words.

So in the first picture you can see that there are some blank tiles to fill in the spaces where there are no numbers; those are just the holiday tiles turned over. The second pic shows without those in place. The last two pics are closeups of the details.

I hope you enjoy!!!! I'd love to hear what you think about my project; I adore it and will be hanging it on my kitchen wall!

Columbia

Woo Hoo! Two cards in two days, that's a record for me lately! As I promised yesterday, I finished a card that has been stuck in my head for a few weeks now. It is designed using two challenges as inspiration; the Bombshell April Sketch Challenge, and the Smeared and Smudged April Oh! The Horror Challenge, which was to use the movie Rocky Horror Picture Show as inspiration.

I decided to make my card using Bombshell Angel, and I tweaked her and dressed her up like Columbia from Rocky Horror, complete with top hat, bow tie, and fishnets! I used Kathi's sketch for my layout, and added some cool glittery details all over. After mapping out my card and figuring it was missing something, I decided to add in the calendar/clock in the background and the words on my triangles.

*click for larger view

I think Angel looks awesome as Columbia, especially with the red cheeks and blackened eyes! I hope you enjoy this card, and go visit the Bombshell Sketch Challenge and the Oh! The Horror Challenge on S&S, you still have time to enter!!!

Bombshell Hump Day Blog Hop Today

Welcome to March's Bombshell Hump Day Hop! It's been a while since I've had the chance to participate in one of the hops, but I couldn't pass up the opportunity to use one of my all time favorite materials to work with...METAL!!!

Kas is our new blog hop captain, and this month she challenged us to make something on metal, with metal, around metal, or about "metal"; I'm sure you get the point. I took the challenge literally, and since I love working with soda cans, I decided to cut one up and use a sheet of it as the base of my design.

I used the butterfly images from "Butterfly Queen" and stamped them with Stazon, then colored with Bic markers. Then from the back I rubbed "bubbles" into the metal using the marker tip.

The glitter images on my card base come from the "Pinstriping" set. I colored them with Bics as well, and then covered with irridescent glitter. Although the lighting of my picture is not fabulous, I hope you can see it well enough and enjoy the card.

So, if it's been a while since you've hopped with Bombshell, or if you've never hopped, you may not be aware that there is an awesome prize! And here it is:

How can you win it you ask? Well, just leave a comment here on my blog and tell me what you think about my project. Then when you hop through to the other blogs, leave them a comment as well. Every comment gives you another chance at winning the March Prize Package.

Don't forget you can also enter the Bombshell Sketch Challenge and the Monthly Challenge for EVEN MORE chances to win!

Here is the list of the other participants, so hop along and enjoy!

Free My Wings Altered Tin and Purple Mermaid Treasure

Today I have two Bombshell Stamp projects to share with you. Both were meant for challenges, and neither one can be used. Argh!!! I barely missed the deadline on one, and the other just doesn't quite meet the criteria, but oh well. I love them anyways.

My first project is an altered tin. After three years of hanging on to this empty hodgepodge hardware tin, I finally sat down and did something with it! I started of course with paint. My base color was midnight garden, a really pretty deep blue-green. Then I added layers of lavender paint and some purple glitter glue. I stamped some background in copper using the "Striped By Me" Bombshell set, and I finished the paint by spraying white and gunmetal black in various spots.

I little while back I got a really cool RAK package from Kathi that had a dressform cutout, among other things (thanks again Kathi!!!), so I decided it was time to use the dressform. I covered it with clear microbeads, and then painted them with paint pens in black and white, and once again used midnight garden for the dressform stand.

The heart image from the "Sacred Heart" Bombshell set was stamped and colored with prismacolors, then covered with glitter glue. I layered feathers, my dressform, and my heart to form my main image. I completed the tin by adding painted scrabble tiles and a hanging jewel. I think I'll be using this to hold some notecards with the same heart image on them, but we'll see.

*click pic for larger view

My second project is a card made using the "Mermaid Treasure" Bombshell set. I started by layering paint over cardstock, swirling to make it look a little like water, and then stamping the seaweed directly into the paint to make some ivory colored images. The little sprinkle-looking things are microbeads that I dropped into the wet paint. I stamped my mermaid and colored her with prismas, then cut her out. I also stamped some extra seaweed in purple paint, added pearl-ex, and cut them out to add layers. My treasure was stamped and colored, then I added in the jewel, pearl, and glitter bling. Finally I put everything together and tied my 3 ribbons to the side.

*click pic for larger view

So, I hope you enjoy taking a look at these. I was feeling very purple when I made them, and I blame it partly on the Gogol Bordello song that we've been listening to on the Smeared and Smudged forum, ha ha! "Start Wearing Purple" really inspired my color choices for these two projects. Speaking of which, come on over to the forum and join us for our sketch challenges and very special Faerie Song challenge, going on until the end of January! You can win a fabo prize from Faerie Song this month, and each month the sponsor changes. Hope to see you there!

Macabre Monday Challenge #021 Eerie Elegance

So, I'm loving Barb's Haunted Design House Blog, and if you guys haven't checked it out yet, you really REALLY NEED TO!! Part of the charm is a weekly challenge called Macabre Monday, and I get to spread my creepy wings and make projects that highlight my dark side. There's a theme for each challenge, and this week's theme was eerie elegance.

I don't know if I'm known for my elegance in my projects, but I figured I'd give it a go. For my eerie creation I used Bombshell Stamps sets "Till Death" and "Mi Amor".

*click pic for larger view*

The background is embossed in silver, and although you can't see it well in the picture, each corner is sporting a black crystal. I layered my stamped roses ala 3-D sticker, and went for a grayscale look with just a touch of color on the beauty's lips and the leaves of the roses. The flower in the tux pocket also has a black crystal.

I tried to make an elegant but dark card that you could send to your hunny, and I know I would use it, so I hope you all enjoy! Now go check out the challenge and enter before Sunday night!!

December Bombshell Hump Day Hop

Welcome to the December Bombshell Hump Day Hop! Starting now, rather than hopping weekly, the Bombshells are bringing you a monthly hop dedicated to showcasing wicked projects and cards featuring Bombshell's awesome stamps!

To start the new year off right, I made a card featuring images from the "Love and Luck" and "Striped By Me" sets. It's very simple. In fact, if you visit Smeared and Smudged regularly you probably know that I like stuff. Lots and lots of stuff on my projects! But I wanted to bring a simple, stripped down vibe to this card to emphasize the beginning of a brand new year.

*click pics for larger views*

I colored the birds and banner in bright colors to illustrate a bright and beautiful future, and used the luck and fate banner to symbolize a fortunate year. The metal brads and medallion are tacking down the vibrant decorative paper over the crumpled vellum; covering the "old" and symbolizing a solid, clean start.

I know, lots of info on such a simple card, but I'd like for you to know the thinking behind it. Anyways, I hope you enjoy this and that you hop to the other participants blogs as well. Don't forget, for every comment you make, you have the chance to win the prize from Bombshell! Happy Hopping!!

Oh! The Horror! Smeared and Smudged Challenge

Every month on the Smeared and Smudged Network, a challenge is posted in the Oh! The Horror group. The challenge is to use a vintage or current horror movie as inspiration for a project. You can use the movie, movie poster, characters, or anything having to do with the movie as your inspiration.

This month, the movie showcased was called "Scream and Scream Again", starring Vincent Price, Christopher Lee, and Peter Cushing. Here is the picture:

For my card, I used the movie poster as literal inspiration and this is what I came up with:

I used several different sets from Bombshell Stamps to build my card, along with vellum, glitter, and paint pens. The sayings on the card say "Bad Girl Till Death" and "Hot As Acid". I think it's a fun little card!

Christmas Angel- Bombshell Hump Day Hop

Welcome back to Smeared and Smudged for a December Bombshell Hump Day Hop. It's been a few weeks since I've participated in the hop, and I missed it! But I chose the right week to join in again, as this is Ms. December's Challenge Week. Give a warm, Bombshell Welcome to Ms. December, Erika T!

So now on to this week's theme...have you been naughty, or nice this year? Ms. December posed this question to us and challenged us to make a project that portrays our answer. Of course, when I heard this, I had every intention of making something naughty. We all know I like to be naughty! But like always, I started stamping and another idea popped into my head.

Yesterday me and my family spent the day decorating our Christmas tree, so ornamnets were coming out the ying yang. And looking at the tree today, I thought it would be fabulous to add a little Bombshell love to it. My project for today turned out to be a very NICE Christmas Angel ornament, using the Bombshell Angel stamp set. (I guess this will have to represent one of my daughters!)

The picture's kinda horrible, but you can see she was super simple to make by just cutting and coloring, then backing with chipboard. I made her skirt from some extra-wide gold ribbon, and the wings came in a RAK from Kathi (thank you Kathi!). I finished her off with a pipe-cleaner halo, some microbeads on her flower, and a hook in the back. She makes an excellent addition to our tree!

So now, hop over to see if the other girls have made naughty or nice projects, and be sure to leave comments for an entry to win the prize this month! If you wanna check out the December Challenge, you'll find it HERE. Have fun hopping!

The Creationist Tree Spinner- Bombshell Hump Day Hop

Welcome to the first November Bombshell Hump Day Hop! Just in case you haven't been here before, each Wednesday the Bombshell Design Team brings you a wicked blog hop that features themed stamp projects and fabulous prizes!

Getting an entry to win is really easy. Just take a look at my project and leave me a comment. Then hop over to the other DT member blogs and leave them a comment about their project as well. For every comment you make, you get an entry.

This week we are all welcoming our Ms. November Bombshell, Mary G.
Big, warm welcomes to you, Mary!!!
Ms. November has presented us with a challenge that rocks, literally. Our challenge is to use song lyrics as inspiration for our project, and I am so thrilled to be participating this week. I LOVE using song lyrics! To view the challenge details, visit the Bombshell Stamps Forum after you've hopped.

For my project I wanted to use the song "The Creationist" by Kerli, which is the song playing on my blog today. The lyrics are:

This is an old and funny poem
I accidentally overheard.
It keeps the little children playing
And bigger children spread the word.
My memory is bad so I always tend to forget
How it goes but

Life is my creation.
Is my best friend.
Imagination is my defense.
And I’ll keep walking
When skies are grey.
Whatever happens
Was meant that way.

Your no better or no worse than the others
We are all the same.
Life is just a moment
You might as well enjoy this day.
It’s time to start believing that everything you want is
On its way and

Life is my creation.
Is my best friend.
Imagination is my defense.
And I’ll keep walking
When skies are grey.
Whatever happens
Was meant that way.

We’ll be growing
Into knowing
While we’re flowing
Keep on going

Life is my creation.
Is my best friend.
Imagination is my defense.
And I’ll keep walking
When skies are grey.
Whatever happens
Was meant that way.

I’m a creationist, oh
I’m a creationist.

This is an old and funny poem
I accidentally overheard

When I listened to the lyrics I knew I wanted to make something free and creative, so I chose to make a tree spinner. It is similar to a windchime; you hang it in a tree or on a porch outside, but instead of making noise it spins in the wind.

*click pics for larger views*

I used an awesome piece of metal that I found at goodwill for the top piece. I'm not sure what it was supposed to be, some sort of decoration, but I painted it up with acrylics and nailpolish to suit my purpose. Then I used scrabble tiles to make my two spinning words: create and live. These words are interchangeable in my world! I can't live without creating, it's just part of me.

My paper art collage doll at the bottom of the spinner was made using five different Bombshell sets: Mermaid Anchor, Pirates Life, Till Death, Sugar Skulls, and Butterfly Queen. I also used the banner that says "No Regrets" from the Girl's Ruin set on the front of the metal piece. Both were colored with prismas and nail polish. On the back of the art doll, I scripted out the lyrics to the song so you can see them when it spins.

To me this spinner represents my interpretation of this song, and I hope you enjoy it! I wanted to make it colorful and fun, something that represents how I feel when I create. It reminds me that no matter how bad life gets, I will always have what is truly me!

So, now that I've told you all about what I think of the spinner and the song, I'd love to hear your opinion. Please leave a comment, and then hop over to the other blogs!!

Til Death Coffin Box- Bombshell Hump Day Hop

Welcome to the Bombshell Hump Day Halloween Hop! This is the first hop where non-DT members have been invited to participate, and I'm really excited to be sharing, and to see what others have done with the Halloween challenge!

If you've never hopped with the Bombshells before, it's really simple... just take a look at my project, leave me a comment to be entered into the awesome giveaway from Bombshell Stamps, and then hop to others and do the same thing using the link list at the bottom of my post.

This week our challenge was to use the Martha Stewart coffin treat box template you see below to build our own version of a Bombshell coffin!

I decided that using paper simply would not do for my own project, so I used clay instead to build a wicked Halloween jewelry/treat box.. Here's what I came up with.

I used the Til Death and Tattoo Backgrounds sets to make my coffin, and painted it to look like antique silver. Not just for Halloween, this one has definitely gained a permanent spot on my dresser to hold jewelry and any other goodies I might see fit; I LUUUVVVV IT!!!!!!! I'd love to hear what YOU think, so leave me a comment to get an entry, and then hop over to the other blogs to see what they've done! Happy Hopping!

DIY Day of The Dead Warmer

Welcome to Smeared and Smudged! Today I'm sharing a very special blog post, I am the guest blogger for Mrs B! I know I've been having a blast participating in Mrs. B's giveaways, reading all the guest bloggers, and visiting the blog tour participants. If you haven't checked it out yet, you should!

If you are new to Smeared and Smudged, this is a blog dedicated to unique and interesting ways to use rubber stamps. I love trying weird and fun things with all of my stamped art, and this month I am sharing 31 Days of Halloween and Day of The Dead Projects! You are very welcome to view previous posts to see all of my Halloween projects.

Since I've been focusing alot on Halloween, I decided I'd share a Day of the Dead project with all of you today. But you can always take this project and use it for Halloween, or any other day for that matter. It is a DIY Scentsy Warmer, and I've blinged it out in the Sugar Skull Collection from Bombshell Stamps.

The warmers are phenominal, and if you've never heard of them, they are a candle-less warmer that fills your home with fabulous scents. Scentsy offers tons of scents to choose from, and recently they rolled out these DIY warmers that you can decorate yourself. They also offer some rub-ons/decorations, which is great, but what fun is that if you have stamps! Here's what I did to mine:

*if you wanna see close-ups, click the pics*

You can see the little green scent bar melting in the top of my warmer. I forgot to mention before, the best thing about these warmers is although they get hot enough to melt the scent, they do not get hot enough to burn. I can pour the wax out on my arm and it won't hurt. So it's safe for kids, dogs, etc. since it uses a bulb instead of a candle.

I loved stamping on mine, and plan on offering these already decorated in the near future in my etsy shop. But, if you're like me and would enjoy stamping your own, you can order them from my sister Tori, who is my Scentsy consultant. She's an awesome person, and has been gracious enough to offer a special 10% discount to anyone who wants to order a DIY warmer today only. Visit her site to read about all the great Scentsy products, and then shoot her an email and mention Smeared and Smudged to get your discount. (Make sure you email or you won't be able to get the 10% off!)

This was one super fun project to work on, and I'll be using it every Halloween to decorate my home! I'll probably even make a few more with some traditional spooky stuff on them. So if you wanna let me know what you think about my warmer, leave me a comment. You'll also be entered into the huge Blog Candy drawing at the end of the month. For details on that, check out my sidebar. Happy stamping, and Happy Halloween!

Dancing Jack Skeley- Bombshell Hump Day Hop

Welcome to the Bombshell Hump Day Hop! If you're unaware, each week the Design Team Members from Bombshell Stamps bring you a fantastic blog hop featuring awesome projects and a cool monthly prize. Just visit each DT member on the list and leave them a comment; for each comment, you're entered into the drawing at the end of the month! The more comments you leave, the more entries you get!

This week our theme is paper piecing, and I have to say I took alot of liberty with the theme. I sat down with the best intetntions of making a card... then, surprise surprise, I thought of something else.

I did use some paper piecing techniques by stamping onto scraps of decorative paper and coordinating different pieces. You can't see it very well in the pictures, but my project used four different coordinating papers. They all have the same color scheme, just different patterns, so it's a little harder to tell unless you're seeing it in person.

My project this week is a Dancing Jack Skeley made from the Muertas Doll set. He is supposed to be like those little toys where you pull the string and their arms and legs go up and down. Since there's alot of movement to him, I included pictures for you to see the design, and a video of him actually moving. (I hope the video works right this time!)

I'm loving Jack and his silly dance! I'll definitely be using this technique to make all sorts of these fun dancing characters for Halloween; my kids are crazy for them!
