Happy Skull Appreciation Day! This year, Smeared Ink and the Smeared and Smudged Forum are bringing you another inspiration-filled hop featured our members' beloved cranial art. We're excited to be hosting again, and we know you will be inspired, awed, and downright smitten with all of the skully goodness that you will see along the hop route today.
If you're a little hazy on the details of Skull Appreciation Day, we invite you to visit the Skull-A-Day Blog where it all began. This is our third year celebrating in our own way, and we hope to have participants in our hop event for many years to come. Today our bloggers were asked to create a project that features a skull, and nothing more. It can be any project their heart desires, and this is the one event we hold each year where the item does not necessarily need to be stamped. We hope this gives our bloggers some great range and creativity when it comes to showcasing their ideas.
During the hop you may also find a giveaway or two. Be sure to read the instructions and description on each blog in order to enter, and above all, have fun! In fact, I have a giveaway for you right now! Here is a sneak peak digi stamp from one of our upcoming Halloween release sets.
It's called "Woodcut Skull" and will not be available until July. For today, we are giving away 5 of these babies. All you have to do is leave a comment here and tell me about your favorite skull project from today's hop. I'll randomly draw the winners tomorrow and post them here on this blog. That's it!
Now it's time for the good stuff. Sit back, relax, and enjoy your time hopping through our 2013 Skull Appreciation Day Hop Blog Roll. Then come back and tell me all about it!

The most original project in the blog hop is Blackdragon's canvas shopping bag, made for the DT blog from De Stempelwinkel. She has used skulls in a very creative way, from far it looks like flowerd, but wait until you get closer!
ReplyDeleteAnd I do not say this because she is my designer, but because I truly think this is the best.

I've had such fun with this event. It was hard to pick one favourite project but I have to go with the Death's Door Domino Earrings (Leigh S-B Designs). They are so gorgeous!
ReplyDeleteSeriously, I have a whole new appreciation for my skull in particular because all this creativity I saw today on these blogs make my head want to explode with joy! However, as Highlander said "there can be only one" and the one I think demonstrated the true meaning of this contest was Shoni. Look at her project and no explanation needed. I hope to join next year.
