Well, it's been a long time since I've had the opportunity to hop along with the fabulous Bombshells, but today I am excitedly joining in with the August Hump Day Hop! I had the privilege of being on the Bombshell DT for two terms, and am so honored to join members of the current DT and the Bombshell forum today to help recognize Bombshell Stamps 5 year anniversary. Congrats Shannon and all the Bombshells, and here's to a bright and sassy future!
The challenge this month was to interpret the theme "Let's Hear It For The Boys". Of course the first thing that came to mind was the song, but I decided to challenge myself a bit and actually make something guy themed. I don't usually give cards to guys, or at least don't get the opportunity much, so I decided to go with a sort-of minimal scrapbook page instead. I know my husband is a pretty simple and clean line kinda guy, so I tried not to girly it up too much with lots of colors or fru-fru.
This project is part hand-made and part digital. I first started by stamping out the cycle image from the Custom Choppers set. Then I fussy cut it and added it onto a couple of layers of distressed metal-looking cardstock, and a layer of painted aluminum that I made. I then added some empty bullet casings to the top left corner and took my picture.
After that, I opened my photo in my My Memories program and added in some really cool "guy" embellishments like clamps, wire, cut up metal, and thick staples, plus some neat background papers. I think I may use this later on as a book cover, something like a scrap book of my husband and son.
Now that you've seen my project, it's time to hop through the participant list to view what I'm sure will be some amazing projects! I know I can't wait to see them. And if you've just started at my blog, be sure to go back to the beginning at the Bombshell Stamps Blog so you won't miss a thing. Thanks for visiting!!
