Good Tuesday afternoon to you all! I have something to share with you today; it is a scrapbook page that I have been working on. If you know anything about me, you know that I haven't scrapbooked very often because I was always under the impression that scrapbooking had to be one of two things- either cute or vintage.
The first time I tried to scrapbook at a crop, I completely lost interest and haven't really ever taken it up again except for a random page here or there. Well, I must tell you that I am now in love. I've basically said screw the "rules" (like I do with most of my art) and have been scrapbooking my way with lots of paint, untraditional materials, and mess. WOO HOO!!
So, here is the page I have to share with you today.

It is a page that uses a technique I like to call "ghost" transfers. I will be teaching the really easy technique this Sunday in the Mixed Media University on the S&S Forum. It's basically just a different way to do an image transfer. After I did that with my photo, I used wax to cover it (I'll also be showing how to do that in the class). Here you can see a little bit of my journaling and some of the embossing powder flecks that I added to the wax.
I think this page is really neat looking. It's creepy but not in a traditional way, so to me it adds a lot of character. What do you think?
Here are some of the materials that I used:
Holy City stamp set from Smeared Ink
G45 papers
Papers from The Scrap Factory
acrylic paint
wax
nail polish remover
scrap newsprint
buttons
beads
gold wire
UTEE
Pearl Ex powder
Prismacolor markers
Awesome!
ReplyDeleteWow Terra! I LOVE this page, it's gorgeous and as you said "creepy in a non-traditional way". Love the flowers you made and I can't wait for MMU this week (or when your able to share your technique). Scrapbooking can be fun when you do it your own way. Way cool background paper with the chaotic birds. WTG Girl!
ReplyDeletethat is beautiful! I scrapbook, and I have so many different ways.. It doesn't have to be "one way". it is personal to me. It can be whatever you want it to be!
ReplyDeleteI absolutly love this layout! You did a wonderful job. TFS
ReplyDeleteWow love your steam punk work, and those flowers are gorgeous!
