Blingy River Nymph

Two posts in one day, I am really rockin' today! I guess I'm just in a pretty creative mood. The card that I'm going to show you now was made for two challenges. The first is this week's Practical Scrappers Challenge, which is glitter and bling, and the second is the Challenge over at The Cuttlebug Spot, which is also bling.

For my card I used the Nymphs stamp set from Smeared Ink and some decorative paper from Stampin' Up. I colored my river nymph and then blinged her up using crystals, and also added some diamond glitter to her. Building my card was pretty simple, I just distressed and layered the papers, added some more glitter and crystals, and a couple of touches of marker. Finally I added in my saying on vellum, also from the Nymphs set.

Even though it is very simple, I absolutely adore this card and hope you enjoy it too!

Columbia

Woo Hoo! Two cards in two days, that's a record for me lately! As I promised yesterday, I finished a card that has been stuck in my head for a few weeks now. It is designed using two challenges as inspiration; the Bombshell April Sketch Challenge, and the Smeared and Smudged April Oh! The Horror Challenge, which was to use the movie Rocky Horror Picture Show as inspiration.

I decided to make my card using Bombshell Angel, and I tweaked her and dressed her up like Columbia from Rocky Horror, complete with top hat, bow tie, and fishnets! I used Kathi's sketch for my layout, and added some cool glittery details all over. After mapping out my card and figuring it was missing something, I decided to add in the calendar/clock in the background and the words on my triangles.

I think Angel looks awesome as Columbia, especially with the red cheeks and blackened eyes! I hope you enjoy this card, and go visit the Bombshell Sketch Challenge and the Oh! The Horror Challenge on S&S, you still have time to enter!!!

Punky Bo Peep

Wow, I've been a very VERY naughty blogger! I haven't had any time to sit down and stamp anything in, well, probably over a month and a half. Which really sucks. But, today I FORCED myself to drop everything and just do it! (I sound like I don't find it enjoying...tee hee.)

I was super inspired by our newest Smeared Ink release. If you haven't heard yet, go check out our site! We released two new stamp sets that will be shipping next week. One of them is called "Killer Bo Peep's Build A Garden", and that is the set I used for this dark, punky card.

I started with a pink card base and ripped the top edge. Then I layered different black and white patterned papers with ribbon in between. (I edged the bottom paper first with pink ink to match the card base). After coloring my Bo Peep and skeleton sheep using some sharpie paint pens and prismas, I cut them out and adhered to the card, tucking the sheep behind my top layer of paper.

Finally I added the finishing touches: my very cool saying, brads, and a googlie eye to my sheep. Oh yeah, and I colored some black and pink triangles along the edge.

Just in case you can't see it well in the picture, my saying reads "Killer Bo Peep has lost her sheep and doesn't know where to find them", hence the tucked away sheep.

I really hope you enjoy this card, as it was purely creative and I thoroughly enjoyed sitting down and making a card that has nothing to do with anything! Hopefully this weekend, since the hubby is back, I will have some more stamping time. I have some great ideas including an awesome (I think) Bombshell card that I want to get out of my head!!! ' Til then, Happy Friday!

Smeared and Smudged Member Hop

Hi everyone! Welcome to the second Smeared and Smudged Forum Member Hop! Today in honor of April Fool's Day, we've themed our projects around a "surprise" or something unusual or unexpected. You're sure to enjoy all the wonderful projects that the S&S members have in store for you, so sit back, relax, and enjoy the hop!

My project today is very simple. My daughter likes to sleep with a nightlight, and it was about time that we upgraded from the plain one she has now. SO, I decided to make her one! I do have to warn you, because of some unforseen circumstances, I did not get to completely finish my project. I plan on hanging some black beading from the bottom of the frame, and it still needs to be attached to the actual light, but you can see the idea of it in the pics.

The first picture shows it in plain light, so you can see the microbead and glitter details on the frame. I used the "Shadow Thingies" Set from Smeared Ink because I think it's whymsical and fun, and looks like it would work well in a kids room. To play along with the kid whymsy, I used watercolors to color.

This picture is what it looks like with the lights off.

Like I said before, I'm planning on adding a few more details, but I'm really happy with how it turned out and I think it will look great in the room! I'd love to hear your thoughts on it, so feel free to leave a comment.

To see what the other hop participants have in store, use the links at the bottom of this post and be sure to leave them all some love. I know I can't wait to hop! And in honor of our surprise themed hop, I also have another surprise for you!

During April, Smeared Ink is hosting it's first Customer Challenge Contest! Since we now have stamp sets in stock and being used, we'd like to reward our customers with an opportunity to win a not-yet-released Smeared Ink set!

Here's how you play:
From April 1st through April 22, enter as many online challenges that you can find using a Smeared Ink stamp image on your entry. In your entry description or entry title, be sure to label it as a Smeared Ink image (it must be labeled as Smeared ink or it doesn't count). On the 22nd, email us a list of challenges that you entered, along with the link to your entry. We'll tally them up on the 23rd and the person with the most challenge entries will win!

Here's The Prize:
Meet Jack! He's a creepy little fellow who likes to give you the heebie-jeebies. Talk about a toy with an attitude! Jack will be available to order in the future, but for now he's only available through our customer contest.

We can't wait to see the projects you are able to come up with for all those challenges out there, so have fun with it!

Now, enjoy the rest of the S&S Member Hop, and be sure to visit us over on the Smeared and Smudged Forum!
